Sony Music just sent over this press release for all those who wasted their money brought tickets to Whitney Houston’s “Nothing But Love” tour…

With great disappointment, Whitney Houston has postponed her first three concerts in the UK due to illness.

The shows affected are her two concerts in Manchester this Thursday and Friday (8 and 9 April) at the Manchester Evening News Arena and her show in Glasgow on Sunday (11 April) at the S.E.C.C.

All three dates have been rescheduled. Glasgow now takes place on Saturday 1 May whilst the Manchester dates will take place at the end of the tour on Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 June.

Doctors visited Whitney late last night in Paris and confirmed that she was suffering from an upper respiratory infection. Upon medical advice Whitney has been advised that she cannot perform to allow her time to recover.

Whitney’s Nothing But Love show is packed with some of her greatest hits including ‘Saving All My Love’ and ‘Its Not Right (But Its OK)’, as well as her more recent hits including the top 3 smash hit ‘Million Dollar Bill’ from her current critically acclaimed album, ‘I Look to You’. ‘I Look To You’ is Whitney’s fastest selling album in the UK, and has already sold over 2.5 million copies. The show uses a brand new never seen before production from Baz Halpin, who created shows for artists including Pink and Tina Turner.

Only last month Whitney had said how excited she was to be performing again in the UK after her eleven year absence and was looking forward to performing new songs as well as crowd favourites.

Concert promoters Marshall Arts have asked ticket holders for Manchester and Glasgow to retain their tickets which will remain valid. Those unable to make the rescheduled shows should apply to their point of ticket purchase for their refund. All other dates on Whitney Houston’s Nothing But Love World Tour 2010 will not be affected and are as follows

This does happen, it’s completely understandable that someone travelling every day/week and singing every night would get sick. So, this isn’t something that I feel will cause much controversy. My only issue is that Whitney sounded like she had a throat infection from the off set – the videos of her performances have been heartbreaking. While I’m glad she’s back and back with a semi-solid album – I am under no illusion that her voice is anything compared to how it used to be. And if you are – you need help.

I really feel I want a refund even if she is coming to Dublin for the April 17th gig. From all the bad reviews I’ve been hearing of the tour so far, I don’t want to go and see her now… I WANT A REFUND FOR WHITNEY HOUSTON DUE IN DUBLIN O2 Arena on April 17th!!!

I agree “Whitney” DO the responsible thing and cancel the tour “GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK NOW”!! all she has to do is show up even if she is crap or walks off after one show we wont get a refund.

I’m with you ladies! I was a huge fan of Whitney and I was so excited she was coming to Dublin but with all the bad reviews and her being sick has really turned me off. My siser got us top price tickets and now I’m afraid it will be alot of money down the drain! With the economic climate the way it is, we can’t afford to be wasting money!! We should be given the option for a refund even if the concert is not cancelled! REFUND!!!

Yes I agree, the tour should be cancelled it is obvious that all is not well and I too have gone off the idea of going now even though I had been looking forward to it

As a whitney fan i was there last night; even if you could excuse her vocals the show was absolute rubbish. Apart from her brillisnt bscking singers the best thing about the night was the burger i had before i went in. For that kind of money you expect some kind of entertainment but there was none she put in zero effort. I was waiting and waiting for the show to start but it never did. Saw Tina Turners show at the O2 and she had a throat infection but she and her show were amazing. Feel cheated.

Two tickets cost me well over £200 for the O2 in London last night. Somebody has to tell her she is unable to sing anymore and is ripping people off. If this were a normal shop product it would be refundable under the various Sale of Goods Acts. The woman should be ashamed of this blatant theft from the public and the concert promoters should refund us.

I paid nearly £250 for two tickets on my fiancée’s birthday to see her all time favourite act. That was the biggest mistake of my life.

Whitney was completely out of tune. There were only around a dozen songs – most of which the backing singers sang the majority of and certainly the chorus in most. There was a strange little three song medly of old classics, which lasted under a minute. She disappeared for 15 mins out of the hour and 15 mins of the “performance” to change costume, during which time we were given a song sang by her brother and then Queen of the Night sung entirely by her backing singers.

Between songs she struggled for breath, coughed (as she did during some songs) and stumbled around trying to remember what she was due to do next.

I want to see some action from the promoters of the gig to reimburse the paying public who could’ve saved significant amounts of money by going down their local pub and listen to karaoke which would’ve been better quality. If Whitney was ill, I would rather they cancelled the event that be subjected to that debacle.

I attend at least one gig a month and have done for the last 10 years or so – this is the worst experience I have had by a country mile.

I saw Whitney at the o2 in London on sun eve and I thought she was AMAZING!! Yeh she didn’t hit all the high notes, but she blasted the songs out and entertained the crowd and put on an awesome show.
After all she’s been through, think people should support Whitney and quit moaning, it’s getting boring now!
I love’d seeing Whitney and would go again tonight if I could!
