Attended the “SHANK” premiere last night in Brixton – I was very, very impressed. A good movie, compelling story (albeit it a little out of the ordinary) and an very talented cast. The cinematography is what impressed me the most, it was seamless and engaging, cutting edge and captivating. My eyes never drifted from the screen. Check the trailer after the jump.

A massive congratulations to director Mo Ali – “SHANK” being his first feature film – the guy rocked it out. The cast were, as I said, awesome – massive props to Bashy, his acting ability took me by surprise. Definitely something he should pursue more of, he’s a promising actor. Kedar Williams-Stirling delivered a strong and convincing breakout performance. Adam Deacon and the rest of the cast worked great together on screen – delivering a passionate, funny (at times), emotional and action packed performance. Bravo to them all.

Definitely recommend you check this movie out. UK stand up.

Peace, love & “SHANK”

P.s Oh, and the soundtrack? I need that. Huge!!!

It was alright, was expecting alot more really, a few funny bits, a few violent bits. just is lacking something big. I thought this would be bigger than adult hood but me and the people I watched this with all agreed that it didn’t quite cut it. Where adult hood was realistic and everyone can relate in thier own way, this was just off the mark. you see about 5 different gangs and 2 of them are aload of girls, 2 were probably hitting the 18 mark , and 1… being the main gang to beat were just pure little yutez.. for one , the world wouldn’t have got into that state in the first place, because the police, let alone the bloody army wouldn’t have let some punks take over. haha Not meaning to bring this film down for anyone who wants to watch it.. just don’t go expecting a next adult hood or you will be disapointed. The music was good, but we obviously expect some dubstep and grimeeeeeee…
