Mad busy right now doing the Grammy coverage, but had to take a minute to post this up. “1000 Deaths” is a brand new unreleased (lol) track from D’Angelo. It doesn’t sound mastered/finished – but it’s new D’Angelo – so, that’s good enough…

Download: D’Angelo – “1000 Deaths”

Funky, soulful – that guitar?! Giving me everything right now. I believe I am speaking on behalf of every soul music fan – WE NEED NEW MUSIC FROM THIS GUY! 2010 has to be the year.

Wiley serves something up for all those Funky lovers out there. I can’t say this is my favourite Wiley track, but it’s still big – that can’t be denied. You can check the original version above – but we recommend you hear the remixes. Here’s two, one by ShyFX and the other by Solo.

That Solo remix is the one, that mix is serious. Course, the ShyFX one is big still – Solo’s kills it.

Peace, Love & Wiley

Jose James – “Made For Love” (Prod Flying Lotus) by Windowpane

I’m fully aware this track has been around for a minute. Hell, I’ve been loving it for a few – but I just realised (upon listening to it for the zillionth time) that I have never blogged about it. That ain’t cool – hence this post.

Jose James, one of the defining voices of modern jazz teamed up with Flying Lotus (again) and together produced “Made For Love” – a moody, sombre love song which satisfies every musical bone in my body. To put it bluntly: this is my sh*t. On each listen I fall in love with something new – be it the digitalised production, the distant piano chords or that simple (yet necessary) ‘boom clap, boom clap’ that drones away in the back. Stunning in all it’s contemporary glory.

“Made For Love” comes off James’ upcoming Blackmagic EP which drops February 1st 2010.

Peace, Love & Jose James
